I have finally stopped buying the cartons of coconut milk and and making my own milk blend. I love this blend because the maca gives it a hearty vanilla flavor that rounds out the seed flavor perfectly. Maca is a Peruvian root that is highly nutritious, energizing, and hormone balancing. The coconut milk that you buy by the carton has some ingredients that are a little sketchy including carageenan which can irritate your stomach lining among other things. And the can of straight coconut milk have such a strong coconut flavor that I don’t like using it as a main dairy free milk staple.
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup shredded coconut
4-5 capsules maca powder or about 1 tablespoon
6 cups filtered water
Optional:1-2 packets of stevia or 1-2 tablespooons honey
*Put ingredients in blender and blend until the liquid is white and creamy.
* Filter the liquid through a mesh teas strainer and drink!
*I also reuse the nut/coconut chunks and add more water and maca and blend again.
