I am love with this winter smoothie! It still amazes me that foods can be warming when they are neither spicy or warm! Food energetics are so interesting and important! Our body’s constitutions tend to be either warmer or colder. This is why it is important to know the energetics of the foods we eat to balance our constitutions and counteract the seasonal effects on our health.
Cranberry winter warming smoothie:
6 soaked red dates (have to be red for warming effect)
1″chunk fresh ginger
1 whole mandarin with skin
large pinch cinnamon
1/2 cup fresh or soaked dried cranberries
large handful parsley
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups coconut milk
1 tablespoon flax oil
*This smoothie has ingredients which are energetically warming so you can stay warm in the winter even though you smoothie is cold! (room temp preferred)
